1. Getting here
There is no parking linked to the venue. The nearest parking is metered, on Bocking Street opposite the entrance. If you are coming by taxi, ask your driver for Bocking Street, off Mare Street.
London Fields station is about a five minute walk, and Bethnal Green on the Central line about fifteen. The nearest bus stops are on Mare Street, by the Salvation Army church, a minute from our entrance.
2. Getting in
We are on the upper roof of Netil Corner, a four storey building dating from 1975. The entrance is on Bocking Street and the approach from the pavement is sloped.
The lift serves the third floor. Above that there are 18 steps up to us, in two flights of nine with a landing in between.
* Extending the lift, or forming an accessible WC at roof level, would mean structural work to the building itself.
3. The venue
Four private sauna cabins. Each has its own sauna room, shower and ante room, and three of the four also have an adjoining cool-down room. Sessions are booked in advance and your cabin is yours alone for the session. The cold plunges sit outside on the shared terrace. We take up to sixteen guests at a time, or twenty when the whole site is hired privately.
There is an accessible WC on the third floor of the building, and a member of our team will let you in if you need it.
We do not play music anywhere on site, indoors or out. It’s about being in your own space, away from the noise of the city.
Assistance dogs are welcome on the terrace and in the cool-down rooms, and we can put down a bowl of water. We ask that they stay out of the heated sauna room itself, and our team will help you sort that.
4. In an emergency
Two sauna managers are on shift whenever we are open, and check every cabin in person as part of getting everyone out safely.
If you would not hear an audible alarm, or would need a hand getting out, tell us when you book and again when you arrive, and we will agree with you how it would work.
5. If you need a hand
Get in touch before you book rather than on the day. We will talk you through the route so you know exactly what you are coming to, and work out what help we can give.
Our managers are on the terrace throughout and will help anyone who can manage the stairs with support. Sauna cabins are private, so there is no queue behind you.
6. If we are not the right fit
Our friends at Community Sauna Baths run something similar.
Their Stratford site has step-free entry, one wheelchair accessible sauna and an accessible toilet.
Walthamstow is their most accessible site, with level decking throughout, two saunas with level access and wide doors, and level access to all of the changing rooms.
If our building does not work for you, both are well worth a visit.
